About Us

ENCIRCLES was established as a registered charity in April 2019.
It is administered and operated solely by volunteers and is entirely self-funding.

As a charity our work involves distributing food each evening to the street homeless, our friends in supported accommodation and any person who is hungry in the community, including families who are experiencing financial hardship. We also prepare and cook a hot Sunday takeaway lunch and sandwich supper bags to hand out as well as distributing emergency family food parcels and cost of living bags consisting of tea, coffee, sugar and long life milk.

Most of our food is provided by local companies who give us food surplus at the end of each day as well as local businesses who donate fresh produce to cook on Sundays.  Throughout the year local churches also supply us with soup and sandwiches and we are supported by the Foodbank, Community Fridge and the Pantry Partnership on a regular basis.

On average we hand out food to 20+ people each evening and to 65+ on Sundays as well as 45+ supper bags.  This provides over 950 meals a month to those in need in the local area.   Any leftover food is taken to local hostels, so nothing goes to waste.

ENCIRCLES can also provide sleeping bags, waterproof clothing, shoes, toiletries, and sanitary products to those in need when requested.

We are totally dependent on donations whether financial, food, clothing, sleeping bags or other essentials.

As the Trustees, Coordinators and Volunteers are all unpaid, and we have minimal overheads, all donations go directly to those in need.

We are totally dependent on donations whether financial, food, clothing, sleeping bags or other essentials.

Meet Our Trustees

Our Volunteers are critical to the services we provide

Molly Fisher

Chair of the Board of Trustees

My name is Molly and I am the Chair of the Board of Trustees for ENCIRCLES.

Our mission has always been to care for and feed those in real need in the community and we provide food 365 days of the year.  I am involved in all aspects of ENCIRCLES, from cooking the meat for Sunday Community Lunch, to handing the food out to our friends in the evenings.  I have been involved with ENCIRCLES for the past 6 years and it is extraordinary how our Coordinators and Volunteers work tirelessly to help our friends.  I am extremely lucky to have a wonderful working relationship with Wiltshire County Council, Alabaré and the local churches and for that I am eternally grateful.

I’m also the owner and MD of Landford Stone which, with ENCIRCLES keeps me very busy. My hobbies are my event horses and walking my whippet John.

Michael Riding

Trustee

My name is Mike Riding and I am a Trustee of ENCIRCLES. I see my role as ensuring ENCIRCLES has a clear strategy and that its work and goals are in line with its mission statement.  Additionally, the Trustees ensure that ENCIRCLES is run in the interests of the people it is there to support, namely the Salisbury Homeless.  I have specific oversight responsibility for General Administration and Accounting and Finance.  I have been retired for five years and prior to that I was the financial director of a number of subsidiaries of a multinational oil company.  My interests include playing golf, photography, gardening and walking in the country-side.

Jenny Barker-Wyatt

Trustee

My name is Jenny and I am a Trustee of ENCIRCLES.  My role is to look after the volunteers in the charity, ensure appropriate cover for our activities and liaise with our food partners to make sure we have adequate food supplies during the week as well as overseeing our website and social media activity.   It is such a pleasure to work with such a committed group of volunteers whose compassion and care of those in need is inspirational.  I continue to work as a civil servant alongside this role and enjoy a busy life in Salisbury with my family and friends.

Anna Hubbard

Trustee

My name is Annie and I am a Trustee of ENCIRCLES.  I help coordinate the services we procure from third parties such as Dentaid.  I’m also a regular volunteer with food distribution.  It is such a privilege to be part of this wonderful organisation and to work with our dear friends who require our support.

Our Volunteers

At any one time we have an active team of 50+ volunteers to support our work in a range of roles.

We are so grateful for this fantastic bunch of people who give their time on a regular basis to support those in need in the local community.   Without them we could not operate.

Our Key Sponsors

Our financial sponsors include The Hendy Foundation, NatWest Group plc and Rothmans Chartered Accountants.

Local businesses who provide regular food support include Reeve the Baker, Pret a Manger, Wenzel’s Bakery, The Happy Fruiters, The Salisbury Butcher, Mani’s Foodbar, Selfie Pizza and The Pantry Partnership.

We are gratefully supported by the local church community who provide sandwiches and soup throughout the year and by the wonderful Lisa Mulholland, who provides an array of homemade cakes every Sunday.

We are also fortunate to have excellent working relationships with Wiltshire Council, Alabare, Dentaid, The Community Fridge and Salisbury Foodbank.
